Effect of friction welding condition on joining phenomena, tensile strength, and bend ductility of friction welded joint between pure aluminium and AISI 304 stainless steel
Joining phenomena of friction welding for pure Al and stainless steel was clarified. The joint with the fracture on the CP-Al side could be successfully achieved. The joint also had 90° bend ductility with no crack at the weld interface. This joint did not have the IMC interlayer at the weld interface. This joint was made with the temperature of over about 573 K and high forge pressure.
