Significant increase in bacterial colonies was observed after the second shift. Microbial load was 60% and 36% more on blend after the first and second shift respectively, as compared to polyester fabric. Among the isolates detected on polyester after the second shift, Escherichia coli (E. coli) was the most abundant (47.8%), followed by staphylococci (19.1%).
