A process for efficient hydrolysis of P from herring by-products has been developed, and the P ingredient evaluated in feed for Atlantic salmon fry.

P from herring by-products was equally available and supported normal growth and development in salmon fry as commercial, mono-NaP salts.

P from herring by-products can be recycled and used as a sustainable new phosphorous source in aquaculture feeds.
