A control of the Nd3+ emission by polarization dependent plasmon-mode of Ag Np chains is achieved.
The polarized spectra of the plasmon modes associated with Ag NPs distributed in long linear chains on LiNbO3 are calculated.
Exciting the radiative mode of the Ag chains with light polarized parallel to their axis selects the π-Stark transitions of Nd3+ ions.
The results are relevant for potential devices with generation of coherent radiation at the nanoscale.
