Recovery of scandium from sulfation-roasted leachates of bauxite residue by solvent extraction with the ionic liquid betainium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide
A full process was designed to recover scandium from bauxite residue. Scandium is leached by sulfation-roasting-leaching and multi-stage leaching. [Hbet][Tf2N] was used for the extraction of scandium from the leachate. Separation between Fe and Sc was improved by reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II).
