The spectral finite element (SFE) method is proposed to simulate the guided wave propagation in the beam.

A SFE crack model is proposed to simulate the guided wave mode conversion effect.

A two-stage Bayesian model updating algorithm is proposed with for the multiple cracks identification.

The Transitional Markov Chain Monte Carlo method is proposed to improve the efficiency of identification.

Numerical studies and experimental verification are provided.
