A novel model for improving the coordination of inland vessels for carrying inter-terminal containers besides hinterland containers is proposed. The problem is decomposed using logic-based Benders decomposition and solved using an iterative heuristic based on large neighborhood search (LNS). The potential of using inland vessels for inter-terminal transport is extensively investigated. A closed-loop perspective in which possible disturbances that may happen are considered.
