This paper focuses on VERY LONG data series of river flow. Unexpected Hurst exponents are found pointing to antipersistence. They are interpreted through seasonal variations and related to El Nino and NAO. An original study of data “validity” is performed through Benford law. The findings suggest tests of flood risks and better data acquisition.
