Pyrrolopyrroledione (PPD) and thienopyrroledione were polymerized with benzodithiophene to obtain π-conjugated polymers. Optical and electrochemical properties of π-conjugated polymers were investigated to elucidate structure property-relationships. The first instance of a PPD based polymer used in a solar cell is reported.
