Antidesmone plays a role in the inhibition of photosynthetic reactions and also plant growth. Antidesmone behaves as a Hill reaction inhibitor. In vitro assays showed that it inhibits the acceptor side of PSII in the pool of QA. In vivo assays indicated that antidesmone inhibits the donor side of PSII and beyond of the PSII.
