MR relaxometry can be used to quantify magnetic nanoparticles (MNP). A new approach to characterize MNPs with respect to quantitative MRI is proposed. The first results qualitatively confirm the outer sphere relaxation theory. Resovist and Endorem are not well-suited for quantitative MRI.
