There are significant placebo effects on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Placebo effects on diastolic blood pressure accounted for 47% of the drug effect. Placebo effects on systolic blood pressure accounted for 34% of the drug effect. No placebo effect on heart rate was found. Placebo mechanisms could be utilized to optimize the pharmacological treatment.
