Adsorption of benzotriazole and benzimidazole from water over a Co-based metal azolate framework MAF-5(Co)

Hydrophobic MAF-5(Co) was synthesized and applied for adsorptions from water. MAF-5(Co) had the highest adsorption capacity for benzotriazole and benzimidazole. Possible mechanisms such as hydrophobic and π-π interaction were suggested. MAF-5(Co) was suggested as a potential adsorbent based on capacity and reusability.
