Preliminary studies on biaxial conditions using an ultrasonic exciter were produced.
These studies represent the first step towards ultrasonic fatigue testing on biaxial loading.
Comparison was produced with conventional testing to qualitatively assess the correct biaxial behavior of the specimen.
The obtained biaxial stress state on the ultrasonic exciter consisted on a 2/3 shear-axial stress relationship.
These tests will serve as groundwork for future developments on multiaxial gigacycle fatigue testing.
