Addition of zeolite to Pt/Al2O3 catalysts increases TOF of Pt. Contribution of acid sites to activity through hydrogen spillover is proposed. Contribution of acid sites is fairly independent of the zeolite properties. Lower Pt-acid site intimacy decreases activity per adsorbing site. Degree of Pt-acid site intimacy can be evaluated by toluene hydrogenation activity.
