A new route of synthesis of RuRe NPs was used adapting MW irradiation and ethylene glycol as solvent/reducing agent.
The obtained RuRe NPs have small size and narrow size distribution.
The RuRe NPs were stabilized by PVP or employing γ-Al2O3 or SiO2 as supports.
The γ-alumina deposited RuRe NPs possesses a high ability to chemisorb hydrogen making them attractive materials for catalysis.
