TNT/Ti drug releasing implants have the potential to prevent premature suture fusion. TNTs with and without biopolymer coating were used as test implant surfaces. Suture mesenchymal cell (SMC) response was evaluated on the implants surfaces. SMC adhesion and proliferative activity decreased on test implant surfaces. Implant nanotopography and surface chemistry negatively affected SMC response.
