Cadmium in vivo exposure alters stress response and endocrine-related genes in the freshwater snail Physa acuta. New biomarker genes in a new model organism
Heat shock alters the expression of the hsp70 and hsp90 genes in Physa acuta. Cd exposure alters the expression of endocrine-related genes in P. acuta. The hsp70 and hsp90 genes show different responses to Cd exposure. Metallothionein does not show a response to Cd exposure. P. acuta could be a suitable sentinel organism for aquatic toxicity tests of EDCs.
