Two methods of lime modification, wet and dry were considered for evaluating the fatigue performance of bituminous mixes in control strain mode in a beam fatigue test.
Wet mixes (with 30% lime in binder) showed longer fatigue lives compared to dry mixes (with 1.5% lime as filler) for thicker pavements.
Incase of thin pavements, the dry mixes with 1.5% lime as a filler have higher fatigue life as compared to wet mixes (with 30% lime in binder).
