Pb present as metal rich granules in Dosinia exoleta was not assimilated by prawns. Pb in mussels was little assimilated by prawns with a trophic transfer factor of 1%. The fraction of Pb present as metal rich granules was much higher for the clam. The risk of trophic transfer of Pb from D. exoleta to marine consumers is very low.
