Analytic description of univariate distributions of wind speed and wind direction. Implementation of three bivariate parametric distributions at six locations. Analytic evaluation of the adopted bivariate models based on seven metrics. Johnson-Wehrly model provides better fits than two copula families. The best bivariate model is applied in wind energy assessment.
