Countrywide distribution of Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. in Portugal
Novel RF-like Borrelia (RFB) were identified.
Phylogenetic analysis suggests that they may correspond to two species of RFB.
One RFB DNA was identified in an immature stage of Haemaphysalis punctata.
RFB DNA was also identified in an adult specimen of Rhipicephalus sanguineus.
