Effects of viscosity and sliding speed on boundary slippage in thin film hydrodynamic lubrication

Load carrying capacity of slider bearing depends on surface oleophobicity. Slider bearing with oleophobic surface is modeled based on boundary yield stress. Boundary yield stress can be determined from measured film thickness. Boundary yield stress is a linear function of viscosity and the sliding speed. Findings confirm the slip model proposed by Spikes and Granick.
