The application and limitation of BWRO are explained. The new trends used for brackish water treatment in The Netherlands are mentioned. Principles, construction, design and hydrogeology of PURO are revealed. The advantages of PURO in comparing to conventional BWRO are explained using a cost calculation. It has shown that PURO can use up to 39% less energy compared to conventional BWRO.
