We assessed reduced-impact (RIL) logging effects on birds in Acre, Brazil. We performed 460 point-count surveys of avian species using occupancy modeling. Avian responses to RIL depended on percentage of bamboo (Guadua spp.) present. Loggers may avoid high bamboo areas which, in turn, may work as refuges for birds.
