A leaf anatomical study of Quercus Group Ilex group was carried out. Five trichome types, two trichome base types, and other fine leaf epidermal features for specie identification were revealed. The leaf epidermal features indicated two morphological groups in Group Ilex: Capitate (Ca) and Branched uniseriate (BU). The leaf epidermal features of Eurasia species of Ca group were uniform. The high mountain species of BU group were originated from subtropical evergreen ancestor.
