Burkholderia fungorum strain DBT1 and 95 produce selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs).
We found that cytoplasmic enzymatic activity is responsible for selenite reduction.
Nanoparticles are produced intracellularly and localized mainly extracellularly.
Biogenic SeNPs are spherical and zero charged.
