Novel glycine-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles-entrapped Ca alginate beads prepared. GFMNPECABs removes 99.8% of Pb(II) ions from aqueous samples. The maximum adsorption capacity of GFMNPECABs is 555.5mg/g adsorbent is unique. The adsorbent exhibited excellent magnetic separation and reproducibility. The method is quite cost effective and an eco-friendly. GFMNPECABs exhibited selective adsorption for Pb(II) ions.
