Laser ablation induces the Cu@C core-shell NPs formation in one step. The Cu@C-NPs suspensions present SPR and PL due to the core and shell, respectively. The origin of the PL of the Cu@C NPs suspensions is related with the carbon shell. An increment over 500% of the PL intensity was measured in samples aged for 30 days.
