Inadequate pre-leaching procedures can affect average δ34SCAS by up to 12‰. Enigmatic ‘superheavy’ pyrite may not be as prevalent as previously understood. Elevated δ34SCAS is recorded worldwide in terminal Ediacaran carbonates. Independent Δ34SSO4-pyr among basins suggests heterogeneous depositional conditions.
