Overall, esophageal AC and SCC are rare in pediatric/adolescent patients.
However, AC and SCC are the most common malignant entities in the adolescent esophagus.
A majority of pediatric/adolescent patients with AC present with metastatic disease.
AC occurs most commonly in the distal esophagus and gastroesophageal junction.
Always rule out AC and SCC in young patients with dysphagia and clinical deterioriation.
