Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) is a transient reversible cardiomyopathy.
TTC occurs typically in older women after emotional or physical stress.
Clinical presentation of TTC is usually similar to acute coronary syndrome.
Pathophysiology of TTC involves catecholamine cardiotoxicity.
Prognosis is favorable but a small subset has life-threatening complications.
