CRISPR/Cas9 system consists of a guide RNA and Cas9, a nuclease that generate DNA break under the direction of guide RNA. CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene editing is a valuable tool to generate animals carrying mutations in multiple genes in a single step. Cardiovascular diseases could be cured by CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene alteration in somatic cells.
