Ion-adsorption REEs in regolith of the Liberty Hill pluton, South Carolina, USA: An effect of hydrothermal alteration
文摘
REE chemistry and mineralogy were examined on the Hercynian Liberty Hill pluton. The pluton is in the highly weathered and slowly eroding South Carolina Piedmont. In one profile, ion-adsorbed REE + Y ranged up to 581 mg/kg and were 77% of bulk REE + Y. In other profiles, ion-adsorbed REE + Y ranged 8–194 mg/kg and were 3–39% of bulk REE + Y. Low P content and hydrothermal alteration caused the high ion-adsorbed REE content.
