Sexuality represents an important component of a senior's identity. Sexuality may be expressed through affection, companionship, and taking care of one's appearance. In nursing homes, a number of barriers exist regarding the expression of sexuality. Sexuality helps female residents recover a sense of belonging. These results should be used to deepen our knowledge regarding the expression of sexuality that takes place in nursing home residents.
