We present a novel optimized strategy for virus-like particle production.

We obtain high yields and purity levels of a soluble plant virus capsid protein.

CPs are in functionally active state with the capacity to readily form VLPs in vitro.

Our method is efficient and inexpensive, enabling fast implementation.

Genetic modifications on the CP sequence can be made.
