An implementation of a pre-existing open source CASA system is proposed. The Open source software is used in equine semen to adapt the original one to mammalian species. The software discriminates motile spermatozoa and gives reliable measures. Outcomes obtained with this software are similar to those recorded with a commercial system used for comparison. The software results present correlation with other sperm quality parameters.
