The influence of dispersion forces on the size-dependent pull-in instability of general cantilever nano-beams containing geometrical non-linearity

The pull-in behavior of a beam-type cantilever nano-sensor/actuator is investigated. The effects of substrate architecture on the nano-switches under dispersion and piecewise electrostatic forces are considered. Non-classical boundary conditions are deduced by employing Hamilton’s principle. Fundamental frequency is increased by the existence and enhance of size and surface effects.
