Monolithic Pt catalysts with the NiO addition were used in CO and hexane oxidation. Addition of NiO to Pt catalyst causes increase in CO and C6H14 oxidation activity. Catalytic activity depends on preparation methods, NiO loading and Pt precursor. The 0.15%Pt/0.13%NiO/Al2O3 catalyst shows the highest activity in both the processes. The metallic monolith is promising support for catalysts used in VOC and CO oxidation.
