Alternative bioreactors could elevate ajmalicine production. Non-homogenous distribution of roots and complete submergence was avoided. Rotating drum and Modified bioreactors with support matrix were attempted. Polyurethane foam matrix led to highest Ajmalicine productivity of 1.13 mg/ld.
