Landscape changes in a neotropical forest-savanna ecotone zone in central Brazil: The role of protected areas in the maintenance of native vegetation

Forest are the most threated physiognomy at the Araguaia River ecotone zone. Natural areas conversion is correlated to cattle herd, but not with cultivated area. The creation of protected areas reduces conversion of natural vegetation. Fragmentation in sustainable-use Protected Areas was equal/higher than in non-Protected Areas.
