Fructus Ligustri lucidi (FLL) inhibited apoptosis and oxidative stress. FLL activated LKB1-AMPK pathway as related with protection of hepatocyte. In mice, FLL also activated AMPK and protected liver injury induced by CCl4. Chlorogenic acid was active component for the liver protection of FLL. FLL might be a pharmaceutical candidate for liver disease.
