Responses of photosystem II and antioxidative systems to high light and high temperature co-stress in wheat

Heat and high light co-stress rapidly induced antioxidant enzymes; however only APX and GPX activities increased after 3 h of co-stress. The photosynthetic activity and the amounts of D1 and PsbQ significantly decreased only after 3 h of co-stress. CP24 and CP26 protein levels and phosphorylation of CP29 and D2 proteins increased rapidly after 1 h of co-stress. PSII-LHCII supercomplexes obviously disassembled rapidly after 1 h of heat and high light co-stress.
