Scientific modeling with mobile devices in high school physics labs

Model building was different from cause-effect exploration of previous MBL studies. Students' overall success rate of model building in physics labs was close to 50%. Successful students persisted in improving quadratic models when fitness got worse. Model building with mobile devices is a viable alternative in doing physics labs.
