Platinum nanoparticles as basis for a novel environmental monitoring biosensor.

Nanoparticles are modified with DNAzymes, enhancing the conductivity of the sensor.

Nanoparticle conductivity is highly sensitive to changes in their environment.

The proposed biosensor is able to detect lead concentrations as low as 10 nM.

The biosensor is simple, selective, cost effective, reusable and fast.
