Uptake of glucose by γB-crystallin increases with incubation time. Oligomerization does not take place upon incubation upto 28 days. Prolonged glycation causes dimerization of the protein. An attachment of a single glucose moiety occurs. Trp residues of the protein are exposed to the solvent on glycation.
