Label-free histamine detection with nanofluidic diodes through metal ion displacement mechanism

Asymmetric nanopores are prepared via ion track-etching technique. Nanopore surface is functionalized with metal–nitrilotriacetic acid chelates. Nanofluidic sensor recognizes histamine via metal ion displacement mechanism. Histamine sensing is monitored through changes in pore conductance. Poisson-Nernst-Planck model is employed to theoretically describe experiments results.
