10 difference 125 mm grinding media samples from 8 manufacturers. Testing for microstructure, hardness, abrasion and fracture toughness. Results indicate little correlation between performance parameters. Analysis provides some insight to the relationship between chemical composition and performance. No validation was completed with field data.
