CNTs/Mg(OH)2 hybrid materials (HMs) were proposed as heat storage systems.
HMs were prepared varying Mg(OH)2 load and CNTs type (pristine or functionalized).
HMs shows a faster heat output and lower-temperature storage than pure Mg(OH)2.
Among HMs the use of functionalized CNTs enhances the heat storage/output capacity.
Mg(OH)2 potential storage capacity (∼1300 kJ/kgMg(OH)2) has been fully exploited.
