A sensitive cholylglycine detection method has been developed with liquid crystal cells.

Nickel nanoparticle was used as homeotropic-alignment induced layer.

This sensor can quantitatively determine cholyglycine level between 0.01 nM to 1 μM.

This smart-engineered method is a promising tool for commercial kits.
